Bethany Presbyterian Church  is pleased to announce that we have been approved by The Mercer County Food Bank as their first member agency food pantry in Mercer, PA.
If you or others you know are facing food insecurity in Mercer PA, we are here to help. We are dedicated to the well-being of individuals and families in need. The mission of Bethany’s food pantry is to provide supplemental food to individuals and families who are currently experiencing food insecurity, and to raise awareness of hunger throughout Mercer, PA.
The following is a List of Townships/Borough that are eligible for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) at Bethany Church:
Coolspring Township
East Lackawannock Township
Findley Township
Jefferson Township
Mercer Borough

To see if you qualify and are eligible for food assistance, please choose one of the following options
(NOTE – you will be asked to show your PA Driver License or PA ID):
  1. If you have access to a computer, go to https://mercercountyfoodbank.org/ and click on the “Get Help” tab. Print out the TEFAP form, and the Proxy Form if you will be picking up food for someone else. Follow the instructions to fill them out, sign them, and submit them to the Bethany Church office by mail or hand delivery.
  2. Stop by the church office, pick up a copy of the TEFAP forms. Take them home, fill out, sign and then submit them to the Bethany Church office by mail or hand delivery.
  3. If you need assistance filling out the TEFAP form, and Proxy form if applicable, pantry volunteers will be available at Bethany Church on February 12, 14, and 16 from 11am to 12pm to help you.
  4. If you can’t make any of the above dates for help, please call the church office at (724) 662-4340 to set an appointment with a food pantry volunteer who will help you fill it out.
All TEFAP forms MUST be received by mail or hand delivered to the Bethany Church office NO LATER THAN February 21, 2024. The church office is open M-F from 8am-12pm.
Bethany’s food pantry will only supply food through our scheduled distribution program. The Bethany Food Pantry plans to open in June 2024 and will begin serving all eligible TEFAP individuals and families on the fourth Saturday of each month from 1-3pm (June 22, 2024).
