Missions and Outreach

Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give. II Cor. 9:7

Bethany Presbyterian Church is a congregation that takes missions very seriously. We have a commitment to the great commission and to the needy that encourages us to devote our time and resources to spreading God's word and helping the poor.

In an effort to better serve the missions and missionaries Bethany Presbyterian Church supports we are working to broaden our outreach by informing members and those visiting our website of giving opportunities. Additionally, prospective partners may want to contact you directly.

In either case spreading the “Good News” of Jesus Christ will be furthered

Please share the contact information you would prefer we use in advancing this initiative and provide both the website or regular mail address you choose and your 250-300 character mission statement for our online Mission Directory.

LOAVES AND FISHES FOOD PANTRY

The purpose is to fulfill the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:35-40: to feed and reach out in love to those in need. By serving others we, in turn serve and express our love for him. Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry will be a channel by which the churches and Christians in the Mercer area can contribute and work together to alleviate the misery and address the needs of others in our own community. Our purpose will be accomplished by volunteers distributing food and showing "someone cares" to those in the community.

Young Life/Mercer County

Young Life is a world-class organization for adolescents. Our staff and volunteers enter the world of kids, focusing on what matters to them — fun, adventure, friendship and a sense of significance. In doing so, we earn the privilege of talking to them about something that we think matters most of all — the truth about God and His love for them.

Young Life began in 1941 and has been in the Mercer County area for over 30 years. There are currently 2 staff and 45 volunteer leaders working in 5 area high schools, 3 middle schools. We also have 2 clubs for kids with disabilities.

The schools where we have ministry include: Mercer Middle School, Mercer High School, Sharon Junior High, Sharon High School, Hickory High, Grove City Middle School, Grove City High School, and Slippery Rock High School. The clubs for kids with disabilities is called Capernaum. We have a Club in Greenville and one in Grove City.
