Children’s Ministries at Bethany
Welcome to Bethany’s children’s ministry page! Here at Bethany our children’s ministries include 3-year-olds through 6th graders, and we have many opportunities throughout the year for children to learn about Jesus and accept him as their personal Savior. Opportunities for Children on Sunday Mornings
Sunday School: Bethany offers Sunday School classes for Children in Pre-K (ages 3, 4, and 5) through 6th Grade. Children’s Sunday School classes meet at 9:00 in the large Sunday School classroom on the second floor. Following opening exercises, children will be sent to age-appropriate classrooms across the hall. Sunday School at Bethany is an active, high energy time for children to spend time with their peers and learn more about their lives in Christ.
Children’s Worship: For Children ages 3 through 2nd grade, Children’s Worship is a program during the church service that offers a bible story, snacks, and crafts to the children of the church. Those in the Children’s Worship age group will be dismissed at a designated time and spend the remainder of the service participating in Christ centered activities with their peers.

Totally Terrific Tuesdays:
Bethany’s afterschool program is offered in two sessions, Fall and Spring, each lasting six weeks. Every Tuesday for each six week session, a bus transports the students from Mercer Elementary School to the church. Each week, parents pick up their kids at Bethany at 5:45 p.m. in the church basement. The program includes Wonderful Food (dinner), Wacky Games, Way-Out Crafts, Wondrous Bible Stories, & Witty Homework Time. Mrs. Nancy Thompson and her team of fantastic adults and teenagers lead, and any students in grades 1-6 may attend. The afterschool program is FREE (all that’s required is a permission slip), and it’s a great time for kids to make friends and unwind while getting the opportunity to work on homework and, most importantly, learn about Jesus. Vacation Bible School:
VBS is a free program offered to kids in preschool through finishing 6th grade, and it will be an amazing voyage through God’s word! Registration cards will be available at the Welcome Center or the church office. Make sure you don’t miss the boat for one of the best weeks of the summer!Six O’Clock News Week at Camp Lambec:
Children finishing grades 3-6 are invited to join Bethany teens and Adults for an action packed week of junior camp at Camp Lambec in Erie. Volunteers from Bethany direct a week of summer fun with the “Six O’Clock News” being one of the highlights every evening. Bethany provides a scholarship of $100 for any child who attends our Sunday School, VBS, or After School Program. Campers can register online at www.capnwp.org or pick up a form in the church office.Junior Retreat:
Bethany 3rd-6th graders are invited to River Ridge Castle in Franklin each winter for a weekend of games, music, videos, bible studies, hikes, snacks, great food, crafts, and worship. Bethany adults and teens will lead the retreat. The junior retreat is a fun getaway in the midst of the school year and a great time for kids to strengthen their relationship with Jesus.
